I hadn’t felt a bit of nausea until the last couple days,
just felt intermittently not very hungry.
Even then I wondered if it was all in my head because I was expecting it
to start soon. But now I’m pretty sure
it’s the real thing. It seems to be the
worst when I first wake up with an empty stomach. I force myself to eat because I need to, but
food doesn’t really have appeal for me this morning. At least I haven’t actually thrown up,
especially in public. How humiliating
that would be.
On the other hand, pregnancy sure does funny things to you –
I’ve had the strongest craving for donuts (even dreamed about them). So I made Matt order Season’s Pizza just so I
could get cinnabites with frosting. And
the other day I randomly ate some pine nut hummus, just trying to be healthy,
and as soon as I tasted it my eyes widened and I thought to myself, “Man, they
must put crack in this, it’s the best thing I’ve ever tasted!” Pretty sure I’ve never felt that way about
hummus before. Must be the baby talking!
I’ve also noticed my sense of smell has been drastically
heightened. I don’t really have food
aversions yet, but I was shocked to realize that the smell of my favorite
kettle corn was off-putting the other night.
It smelled SO strong to me.
Weird! And Matt made Indian food
which normally I wouldn’t like the smell of, but this time I thought it was
pleasant.
